It appears a Ladner Village building destroyed by fire more than two years ago could be rebuilt.

The Corporation of Delta has received a development permit application for the property in the 5000-block of 48th Avenue.

Three local businesses - Marco's Italian Bistro, Heritage House Interiors and Dragonfly Gallery - and the three apartments above were destroyed in the Nov. 8, 2009 blaze.

Both Heritage House Interiors and Dragonfly Gallery subsequently relocated to a building on Chisholm Street.

Shortly after the fire, investigators determined it was electrical and started in a common wall between Marco's Italian Bistro and Heritage House Interiors.

An application has been made by Hearth Architectural for a twostorey building with three commercial units on the ground floor and four apartments on the second floor.

The application is still in the preliminary stages and has not yet gone forward to Delta council for consideration.
