BCCDC provides overall COVID-19 number for Delta

The BCCDC notes case rates are low and continue to decline in all health areas, now approaching levels last observed in August 2020

In Ladner, 87 per cent of people ages 12 and up had their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine, while it was 86 per cent for Tsawwassen and 85 per cent for North Delta.

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the City of Delta continues to plunge as more residents are getting vaccinated.

According to the BC Centre for Disease Control’s latest community map of confirmed COVID-19 cases, covering the period June 27 to July 3, Delta had just 10 cases.

Meanwhile, Surrey had 28 cases, Richmond had three, Langley had four, Abbotsford had 13, Burnaby had 16 and Vancouver had 30 cases.

The data also indicates Delta had nine new cases for the week of June 28 to July 4.

Delta, as of July 5, saw 85 per cent of residents ages 12 and up having received at least their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.

The BCCDC’S latest map showing how many people overall in each community had contracted the virus since the pandemic began, covering the period starting Jan. 2020 to the end of June 2021, indicates the City of Delta had 4,907 cumulative cases.

That map also shows that Surrey had 37,687 cases, while Richmond had 4,106, Langley had 4,993, Abbotsford had 9,049, Burnaby had 11,037 and the City of Vancouver had 22,636 cases.
