Blessed place

We are so fortunate here in our small southwest corner on the west coast of Canada in this specific climate bubble.

We are so fortunate here in our small southwest corner on the west coast of Canada in this specific climate bubble.

We are only in March and for a few weeks already the flowers have been peaking through the ground with vibrant colour, the buds on the trees are now popping with brilliant beauty and amazing smells are flooding our senses.

Ah ah ahchew... oh excuse me, time to pop another Claritin. Now... what was I saying? So when the phone call from family or friends further east comes through, we wrestle with the question: Do we gloat or not?

Especially this year when the rest of Canada, it seems, has to tunnel through mountains of snow and bundle up against freezing temperatures, perhaps we would do well to remember Paul's comment when faced with very mixed circumstances: "I've learned by now to be quite content whatever my circumstances. I'm just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I've found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands empty. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am." (Philippians 4:11-13) I'm actually looking forward to my upcoming visit to New Brunswick to spend very important time with family. I may even have some fun in the snow!
