Break-in suspect flees after boy found in car

Nov. 18, 4:45 p.m., 53A Street and 12th Avenue: Mother of female youth contacted police indicating her daughter walking home from basketball practice had called her concerned that a white truck had passed her and then made a U-turn and appeared to be following her. Police responded but vehicle not found. The youth did not see the driver and no attempt was made by the driver to make contact with the girl.

Nov. 19, 4:07 p.m., 1100-block of 52A Street: Complainant reported that he left his wallet on the top of his dresser when he went to bed and it was missing when he woke in the morning. Several items were on the dresser, including silver jewellery and keys, but only the wallet was missing. The complainant was unsure as to whether the doors to the residence were locked. No sign of forced entry.

Nov. 22, 3 p.m., 500-block of English Bluff Road: Complainant called police to report his vehicle's gas tank had just been punctured by a large rod lying in the middle of the road.

Nov. 22, 4:40 p.m., 1200-block of 56th Street: Licence plate numbers were provided by a witness who observed a female reversing out of a parking stall in the supermarket parking lot and colliding with an unoccupied vehicle. Police visited the home of the suspect who indicated she was not aware she had struck another vehicle. There were minimal scratch marks on both vehicles.

23, 4:45 p.m., Beach Grove Road and 12th Avenue: Complainant left her vehicle in the lot while she was walking with her children on the dike. When she returned the passenger side window was smashed and a purse and large bag of children's winter clothing were stolen.

Nov. 18, 3:59 p.m., 4600-block of Clarence Taylor Way: Complainant reported that while her son was sitting in her parked vehicle a male wearing a bright yellow jacket had used a crowbar to break into the vehicle. The suspect did not see her son as a garment bag was blocking the window. Her son screamed as the suspect opened the vehicle and the suspect fled in a grey Toyota van.

Nov. 19, 7:04 p.m., 5100-block of Heron Bay Close: Police responded to a report that a brown pickup truck had been parked in the wrong direction in the cul-de-sac for the past day. When police arrived the vehicle was gone. A computer check of the licence plate number provided indicated the plate had been terminated. Police contacted the registered owner in Prince George.

Nov. 20, 3:15 p.m., 4700-block of 55B Street: Police contacted by a mother indicating her seven-year-old daughter was locked in the bathroom and she could not unlock the door. Police assisted in opening the stuck bathroom door.

Nov. 20, 6:25 p.m., Delta Street and 47A Avenue: Complainant left his vehicle parked on the street overnight and when he returned he found both front door locks had been punched. A black briefcase containing company cheques and deposit book were missing. The bank was immediately notified and the account is being monitored.
