Bus service changes coming for these Delta routes

TransLink says it is constantly monitoring system-wide ridership trends to adjust service on routes

TransLink adjusts service levels every three months to reflect changing demand and travel patterns.

TransLink says it is boosting bus service on some routes and reducing others to prepare for changing travel patterns as people return to work and school.

The transit authority implements service changes every January, April, June and September based on seasonal patterns and recent trends.

The fall service increases and rolling back of summer service will start Sept. 5 and includes some routes through Delta.

The seasonal service increases include the 601 South Delta/Bridgeport Station, which will see service increased by shortening waits by five minutes on weekday afternoons.

Service adjustments include the 640 Ladner Exchange/Scott Road Station.

TransLink notes customers on that route can expect slightly faster service north of 72nd Street and River Road on weekday mornings. To make that possible, service will be slightly less frequent south of 80th Street and River Road on weekday mornings.

Meanwhile, TransLink says the routes where summer service will be rolled back for fall include the 620-Tsawwassen Ferry/Bridgeport Station.

TransLink notes ridership on its system is currently around 75 per cent of pre-pandemic levels, while services remain at or near pre-pandemic levels.
