Callers worried about safety of skateboarders

The following are some of the calls the Delta police responded to in the previous week: Tsawwassen

June 2, 2:17 a.m., 2A

Avenue and Murphy Drive: Police located two males who were reported to be trying doors to parked vehicles. Both admitted to trying a door to a vehicle but not gaining entry. One of the males was driven home by police due to minor intoxication and the other male walked to his home. No charges at this time.

June 2, 4:36 p.m., 52nd Street and 7A Avenue: Two separate calls received from citizens concerned for the safety of several boys skateboarding on the busy road.

The boys were being driven up the hill by a father using a dune buggy. Police attended

but the boys were gone on arrival. The surrounding streets were checked but the boys weren't located.

June 4, 4900-block of Cedar Crescent: Complainant reported graffiti written on the front door of her residence. The graffiti was in fine red ink and included a cross with 666 below. No suspects or witnesses and no information to suggest this was anything other than a prank. File concluded pending receiving new information.

June 5, 11:30 a.m., 1200-block of 56th Street: A local business reported it was concerned that a client may be the victim of elder abuse due to an issue of coercion. B.C. Trustee and Guardianship made aware of the file and ongoing evaluation will be provided by the economic crimes department.

Ladner

June 2, 6:30 p.m., 4600-block of Clarence Taylor Crescent: Complainant reported she had left her bicycle unlocked in the bike racks outside the leisure centre and when she returned a couple of hours later the bike was gone. The bicycle is described as a blue and silver Trek sixspeed ladies mountain bike.

June 7, 11:21 a.m., 4900-block of Central Avenue: Complainant reported jewelry missing from her bedside table drawer. The complainant had no idea how the jewelry went missing as there was no forced entry and only her family has keys to the residence.

June 7, 8:49 p.m., 5700-block of Ladner Trunk Road: Complainant, a 10-year-old, reported someone had stolen his Razor scooter and the Razor scooter of his friend while they were out of sight of their property for 10 minutes.
