North Delta's Nicola Jurinovic is the new environmental program coordinator for the Burns Bog Society.

On Tuesday, April 25 at 7:15 pm, interested members of the public are invited to join the CFUW-South Delta in welcoming Nicola Jurinovic of the Burns Bog Conservation Society for an exciting public talk about the vital role that bogs play in a smart approach to climate change mitigation.

Learn about what makes the bog environment so unique, how carbon from the atmosphere becomes sequestered deep under the surface of bogs like Burns Bog, and just how many Stanley Parks you could fit inside of Burns Bog, among other interesting facts!

Jurinovic graduated from McGill University with her Bachelor’s in Agricultural and Environmental Science. She currently works as the Environmental Programs Coordinator at Burns Bog Conservation Society in Delta, where she develops, organizes and runs all of the nonprofit's programming, from summer camps to ecological restoration events to public outreach events.

The event will be held at Benediction Lutheran Church, 6th Avenue and 56th Street in Tsawwassen. Please contact [email protected] to confirm your attendance, or to ask a question.
