Changes for Delta School Board meetings

All members of the community are encouraged to attend the next meeting
delta school board in-person meeting october 2020
The last in-person public meeting of the school board was held in October 2020.

The public can once again see the Delta Board of Education’s meetings in-person and ask questions of the trustees.

Since March 2020, the school board changed its meetings, with the exception of one session, to have all discussions on the Internet.

The next regular public board meeting will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 7:30 p.m. in the boardroom at the district’s office, located at 4584 Harvest Dr. in Ladner.

As usual, the agenda for each board meeting will be posted on the district’s website (deltasd.bc.ca) no later than the Monday immediately preceding the board meeting.

A question period of no more than 30 minutes will be provided at the end of each meeting.

The district notes that the purpose of the question period is to ensure that the education partners, the public and media have an opportunity to ask questions relating to an agenda topic and/or to obtain clarification concerning any business conducted during the previous board meeting.

School Board Chair Val Windsor recently told the Optimist the board will also be changing the way it carries out the public consultations for the operating budget process to provide even more opportunity for input and learn in-person sessions about the reasoning behind the budget proposals.
