A collectible sale will be held Wednesday, Dec. 7, at the Delta Hospital Auxiliary's Ladner Thrift Shop, 4816 Delta Street, Ladner. The main store is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. while the overflow space is open at 9 a.m. Look for jewelry, furniture, linens, artwork, lighting, musical instruments and tableware. Join the Delta Naturalists for our Holiday Celebration on Monday, Dec. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at Cammidge House on Boundary Bay in Tsawwassen. Our guest speaker is Danny Kent. In the fall he dons his scuba gear, packs his trusty waterproof camera and dives for research and photos in the High Arctic. The Canadian Cancer Society Volunteer Driver program in Ladner/Tsawwassen is in need of more volunteer drivers to take patients to and from their treatment. Training and dispatch are provided. The Delta Hospital Auxiliary Society runs a number of units within our hospital that provide services to patients and their families as well as staff. We are currently looking for volunteers skillful in office work, merchandizing for the Dogwood Gift Shop, and food services to coordinate the Courtyard Cafe. Volunteer Grandparents is a non-profit organization that does valuable work in the Lower Mainland, for families and the community. ARTSChristmas Presence... A concert of songs, poems and stories on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at St. David's Anglican Church, 1115-51A St., Tsawwassen. Join Allen Desnoyers and friends for an evening of music, drama and hilarity. Desnoyers is a gifted musician, actor and playwright. Cider and shortbread will be served following the concert. Local nature photographer and singer/songwriter Rosemarie Hurst, and acrylic artist Jacqui Kenney present "Reflections" at the Tsawwassen Arts Centre at 12th & 56th St. until Dec. 13. Festive Open Stage, 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14 at the Tsawwassen Arts Centre (1172-56th St.). The first half of the evening will be a regular Open Stage. The last half will be a festive sing-a-long (song sheets provided) with Patti McGregor on keyboard accompanying the audience which magically becomes the choir. South Delta Artists Guild new show "Big and Small" just in time for gift giving. The treasure of a local artists fine art work or give yourself the gift of an art course. Check out the workshop board for art classes for all levels and open to non-members all levels taught for very affordable prices. The guild also has a Monday morning life drawing class with a live model in attendance. Call to inquire or ask while you're there. The gallery is open Thursday/Fri/Sat/Sun from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
