The Ladner-Tsawwassen Branch of the Navy League of Canada will be holding registration for its new Navy League Cadet Corps on Thursday, Sept. 13 and 20 at 6: 30 p.m. at Delta Secondary School, 461551st St., Ladner. All boys and girls who are 9 to 12 years old are eligible to register. Cadets participate in sailing, canoeing, first aid, riflery, camping and a host of other activities. Delta Seniors Planning Team offers a free workshop for seniors on reducing health risks and maintaining good health through physical activity. It will be presented Saturday, Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. at McKee Seniors Recreation Centre at 5155-47th Ave., Ladner. Presenter is Sepia Sharma, Community Health Specialist, Fraser Health Authority. There will be a Parkinson's support group meeting Monday, Sept. 17 from 11 a.m. to 12: 30 p.m. at KinVillage. We are a group who either have Parkinson's Disease, or live/help someone who does have PD. On Saturday, Sept. 15 there will be an art fair and open house at Cammidge House in Boundary Bay Regional Park from 1 to 3 p.m. with plein air artists, pottery, photographs. Refreshments will be served. There will also be an Earthwise Garden Tomato Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the corner of 3rd Avenue and Boundary Bay Road. Over 30 varieties of heirloom tomatoes along with produce and honey.
