The Probus Club of South Delta, a non-profit, fellowship club for retired and semi-retired professional and business people will hold its monthly meeting at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18. The South Delta Newcomers Alumni meetings are held the third Thursday of each month at 7:15 pm at the Art Gallery, Kiwanis Longhouse, located at 1710-56th St., Tsawwassen. Heritage Week -An Evening of Readings with Doug Massey, Thursday, Feb. 19, 7 -8 pm at the Ladner Pioneer Library. The Delta libraries are proud to celebrate Delta's heritage with life-long resident and former city councillor Doug Massey. Massey has spent the past five years researching Delta pioneers and war veterans, collecting their stories in his new book Remembering Those Who Helped Defend Canada Build Delta Municipality.
The seventh "Wander Inn Cafe" will be open Saturday, Feb. 21, 7-10 p.m. The featured performers are local singer/pianist, Adrienne Watt, as well as a popular Ladner local band, Kindred Spirits, playing a variety of toe-tapping music. The evening will offer an eclectic mix of genres from pop/contemporary gospel to soft rock, country, blues, jazz, and swing.
