Tales for Tails: a Reading Enhancement Program at the Delta Community Animal Shelter. Read to an animal at the Delta Community Animal shelter. For children ages 6 to 13 who might be struggling with their reading and would like to practice with a non-judgmental listener. Bring your own book or choose from a small selection at the shelter. To book a 20-minute weekly session with one of the animals, contact the Delta animal Shelter, 7505 Hopcott Road, Delta, at 604-940-7111.

The DMAS last Heritage Happenings Who Am I? Animals of the Delta runs Aug. 19 20 from 1-3pm at the Delta Museum! Delta is teeming with life, from the tiniest micro-organism to the largest mammal, many animals call the Delta home. Come to the museum and learn about your wild neighbours through activities, crafts, and games. Cost is $10 per child. Join the Delta History Hunters on Thursday, Aug. 20 for an informative history tour where we will walk, talk and explore our way through Delta's local history. This trip will feature Nottingham Farm. Join local history buff Warren Nottingham for a tour of his family's historic farm property. Please meet us at 60th and 68th Ave, where we will start with a tour of the property. Wear sturdy shoes as we will be walking through brush and farmland. RSVP by calling 604-946-9322 or emailing [email protected]. There is a $5 fee per trip for non-members.
