The Delta HUB Cycling Committee is meeting on Thursday, Sept. 3, 7-8:30 pm at the Ladner Pioneer Library (Meeting Room). Attend our monthly meetings and support local action to improve cycling safety and connectivity for all ages abilities. Open to the public; no experience is required. Email: [email protected].

Learning Disabilities Association - Fraser South Chapter is looking for volunteer literary and math tutors. The program will be offered in Ladner starting Oct. 5. Delta Nats casual birding walk, a Birds on the Bay event, Wednesday, Sept. 9, Boundary Bay Regional Park 9am - noon. Join Tom Bearss and his informal birdwatchers for a 2.5-hour amble. Enjoy the abundance of resident birds and fall migrants passing through Delta at this time of year, including shorebirds, waterfowl, raptors, and smaller birds. Bring binoculars if you have them. The Delta Deas Rowing Club is hosting a Rowing Regatta Saturday, Sept. 12 in the Ladner Reach and Deas Slough. We require Safety Boats (12 -14 feet) with experienced drivers to be positioned on the course to aid Rowers. Two shifts are available: 7-10:30 am or 10:30 am to 2 pm. Ladner Baptist Church is hosting The Connect Fall Family BBQ for families of individuals or children of all ages, with varied physical, medical, mental, emotional, or behavioral abilities or needs on Saturday, Sept. 12 from 10am-1pm. Living with Cancer/Restorative Yoga. If you are living with cancer, the Centre for Supportive Care is offering a unique program on Thursdays at 1:30 -3:30 pm, starting Sept. 24. A cancer support group will be facilitated by Counsellor, Gilly Heaps, and alternate weeks, restorative yoga will be facilitated by Maureen Dufresne. Pre-registration is required. Are you responsible for the care of a family member at home or in a facility? Trying to cope with the changes that aging and illness bring to a loved one can be a difficult and stressful job. Delta Caregivers' Network is offering an education and support group starting Wednesday,

Oct. 7 from 1-3pm once a week for eight weeks. Cost is $50. Subjects covered include caregiver stress, communication techniques, role and lifestyle changes, accessing and using community resources, and legal and financial issues. Fund Raisers

The Rose and Crown Pub in Tsawwassen is hosting a Cops for Cancer 2015 - Tour de Coast fundraiser on Sept. 10, 11 and 12. The funds raised will be going to pediatric cancer research and Camp Goodtimes. Raffle tickets to be sold over the three days with the draw taking place on Sept. 12. The Delta Choral Society is now operating three choirs. Existing and new members are invited to the following. All ages. Anyone from elementary school to any age and any ability can come sing!
