A longtime Delta tradition has been cancelled due to the coronavirus.
Jennifer Scott, chairperson of the Ladner May Days committee, confirmed on the Ladner’s Landing Facebook group last night that the committee agreed it would be best to cancel this year’s festival.
“As our community faces uncertain times while coping with COVID19 as best we can, the Ladner May Days committee has made the difficult decision to cancel the event for this year. Much of the things that make up such a wonderful event are reliant on participation from the community, and with uncertainty around group gatherings in the next 2 months, we feel this is the necessary action. Our community and our volunteers are very important to us and we do not want to put anyone at risk,” she posted.
“We will work hard to make next years' 125th May Days a wonderful experience for you and your families.”
