Council makes appointments for Metro, library and TransLink boards

Changes also made to upcoming meeting schedule

Delta council's first order of business at its Nov. 7 inaugural meeting was to make appointments to Metro, library and TransLink boards.

There were a few business items that were discussed at Delta council’s inaugural meeting on Nov. 7.

Council approved appointments to the Metro Vancouver Board, the Fraser Valley Regional Library Board and the TransLink Mayors’ Council on Regional Transportation.

Mayor George Harvie and Coun. Dylan Kruger have been appointed Delta’s directors for Metro while councillors Rod Binder and Daniel Boisvert have been appointed alternates.

Binder and Coun. Jennifer Johal (alternate) have been appointed to the Fraser Valley Regional Library Board.

Kruger has been appointed as alternate to the TransLink Mayors’ Council on Regional Transportation and he has also been appointed as acting Mayor when Harvie is unavailable or out of town.

Meeting schedule

There are a few changes to the upcoming council schedule.

Delta has canceled a public hearing for Tuesday, Nov. 22. In its place is a Committee of the Whole meeting scheduled for 4 p.m.

There has also been two council meetings added for the month of November – this Monday, Nov. 14 at 4 p.m. and Nov. 28 at 4 p.m. both at City Hall in Ladner.

December’s council schedule remains the same with a regular meeting in North Delta on Monday, Dec. 5 and a regular meeting on Monday, Dec. 12.
