The number of confirmed active cases of COVID-19 in the City of Delta continues a downward trend.

According to the latest numbers released this week by the B.C. Centre for Disease Control, which covered the period from Jan. 17 to 23, there were 69 cases of coronavirus infection in Delta.

Last week’s figures had Delta at 100 cases.

Meanwhile, the latest BCCDC map had the City of Surrey at 589 cases, down from 675 the week prior, while Richmond was at 61 cases, down from 67 the previous week.

The Fraser Health region continues to lead the way when it comes to daily new confirmed cases among the health regions.

Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Minister of Health Adrian Dix this week warned they continue to see new community clusters around the province, which shows once again how easily the virus spreads.
