TSAWWASSEN

Sept. 14, 6:29 p.m., 1300-block of 56th Street: A customer told a staff member in a local business that he had spoken to the manager about getting a refund for an $86.73 order made a few days earlier. The employee processed the refund and provided the suspect with the cash. When the owner of the business learned of the transaction, he indicated no such agreement had taken place and that the refund should not have been processed. Police attended and are investigating.

Sept. 15, 9:14 p.m., 400-block of English Bluff Road: The complainant reported an attempt had been made to break into a vehicle parked on the property. It appears the suspect(s) attempted to gain access to the trunk but was not successful.

Sept. 16, 2:21 p.m., 5600-block of 21st Avenue: Complainant reported unknown suspect(s) attempted to gain entry to his property by breaching the gate. Suspect efforts were unsuccessful but suspect(s) did damage to the gate. Damage to the gate: approximately $100.

LADNER

Sept. 12, 3:09 p.m., 6000-block of Deas Island Road: Complainant left her vehicle at the park and when she returned she found the passenger window smashed. Two purses, which were left under the passenger seat, were stolen. The complainant's small red purse contained driver's license, passport, cash and house keys. The passenger's purse contained cash and bus tickets.

Sept. 14, 8:16 p.m., 5900-block of 48A Avenue: Complainant reported he received a job offer via email and a phone call. He then received a cheque for $19,238.30 from the company for what he believed was a lump sum salary payment. He was directed to deposit the cheque by wire to a "customer" of the company. At this point the complainant became suspicious and only wired $10,000 to the account in the U.S. The cheque was returned to the complainant as counterfeit and he is now required to pay back the $10,000. Investigation to continue with complainant providing documentation of the transactions and liaise with the bank security and fraud department.

Sept. 15, 6:55 a.m., 5000-block of 58B Street: Complainant left her vehicle unlocked in her driveway and sometime overnight it was entered and change is missing. Later she discovered her hairdressing equipment, valued at $1,000, had also been stolen.

Sept. 16, 3:50 p.m., Roberts Bank: Complainant set his crab traps in the water and when he returned a couple of days later to check on them they were gone. The traps were set about 41 feet deep and the suspects had cut the lines. Value of the traps: approximately $4,000.

Sept. 17, 3:33 a.m., 5700-block of Ladner Trunk Road: The restaurant reported finding a broken window on the north side of the business. It is believed the incident occurred in the middle of the night. No entry was gained to the business by the suspect.

Sept. 17, 6:04 p.m., 4800-block of Delta Street: The suspect used a fraudulent credit card to make a purchase of $379.29. The incident still under investigation with a request for a warrant.
