Crime Beat: Youth throw cheese at complainant's vehicle

The following are some of the calls the Delta police responded to in the previous week:

TSAWWASSEN

May 24, 9 a.m., Gale Drive: Several reports of thefts in the area overnight. In one case, a small boat motor was stolen and in another a black Roubaix road bike with pink handle bars was taken.

May 25, 1:30 p.m., 700-block of 53rd Street: Complainant's bike stolen from bike rack at some time during the day. Bike is described as a green Kona Shonky mountain bike with black seat, tires and handle bars.

May 29, 9:58 p.m., ferry terminal: Complainant reported a man sitting in the driver's seat of a vehicle drinking Southern Comfort. Police located the vehicle leaving the ferry and issued a roadside screening test. The driver passed the test. He was warned and allowed to proceed.

May 29, 1:52 p.m., 4900-block of 5th Avenue: Complainant reported that sometime over the previous night unknown suspects had egged his residence. Officers observed egg yolk on the windows and siding. No suspects or witnesses.

May 29, 9:38 p.m., 1700-block of Beach Grove Road: Complainant reported the attempted theft of bumper mounted LED headlights from his vehicle. Surveillance video to be provided to officers.

May 29, 1:10 a.m., Erin Place: Complainant reported mischief to a vehicle in which a group of youth threw cheese at the parked vehicle, causing three pieces to stick. Complainant had heard people around the car, confronted them as they ran away and then returned home to find the stuck cheese. Area patrols unsuccessful. Reported for information purposes.

LADNER

May 27, 8:32 p.m., 4600-block of Clarence Taylor Crescent: Complainant's side mirror broken off the vehicle while it was unattended in the parking lot. Passenger side door dented.

May 27, 6:26 p.m., Harvest Drive and Ladner Trunk Road: Officers responded to a report of a male off to the side of the road who was masturbating publicly. Officers located the male and arrested him. The man faces charges of breaching undertaking conditions and indecent acts.

May 30, 9:27 p.m., 5100-block of Ladner Trunk Road: Police responded to a report of a possibly impaired driver using the bank machine. Officers stopped the vehicle and determined the driver was sober.

May 30, 11 p.m., 4600-block of Clarence Taylor Crescent: Report of thefts from lockers at the Leisure Centre. Wallets, clothing, cash and other items stolen. Still under investigation for surveillance video.

May 30, 8:54 p.m., 5400-block of Ladner Trunk Road: Complainant reported a theft of two six packs of Black Label beer from the store. Officers located and arrested the suspect who is facing charges of theft under $5,000.
