The Delta Community Foundation (previously the Delta Foundation) is honoured to be the recognized charity of the Delta Chamber of Commerce at their 2021 Hats Off Gala on Friday (Nov. 19). This comes at an important time for the Delta Community Foundation as they launch their ‘Be a Community Builder’ campaign.

The ‘Be a Community Builder’’ campaign embarks on a fundraising campaign to build the assets of the Delta Community Foundation in order to make an even greater impact for the citizens of Delta. With the launch of the campaign comes a new name and logo that identifies the importance of the three communities of Delta coming together to build community.

The Delta Community Foundation plays a unique role in supporting the community of Delta. This Foundation is Delta’s only Community Foundation and supports diverse charities throughout Delta. By giving to the Foundation, individuals, families, community groups and businesses can support many meaningful small non-profits in Delta.

Gifts small and large are welcomed and help the Foundation give small charities the leg up they deserve. By accepting community donations, creating and administering endowments, the Delta Community Foundation is able to support many worthy community organizations that need immediate help and may not have the resources to seek funding elsewhere.

One initiative driven by the Delta Community Foundation is the Neighborhood Small Grants program. This program enables the Foundation to give out grants to individuals and organizations in the community whose goal is to bring the community together.

Mama’s for Mama’s is one of these small organizations in our community who benefited from the Neighborhood Community Grants Program.

“The Delta Community Foundation was the first to step up and help us give a helping hand up and they continue to do this each year. We want to take this opportunity to thank the Delta foundation for their continued support and we look forward to many years of working together,” says Anna Carr from Mama’s for Mama’s.

‘The Delta Community Foundation has been able, because of the past generosity of the Delta community, to fund many important projects in Delta’, said Delta Community Foundation Vice Chair Carlene Lewall. ‘The next phase in the Foundation’s growth is to increase our ability to fund even more great community projects and organizations. We are extremely proud to be able to launch our Be a Community Builder Campaign’, she adds.

The Delta Community Foundation encourages all Deltans to learn more about who they are and what they do. Any size of gift to the Foundation is welcomed and donors can be assured the residual interest earned will be used as a legacy for future generations and their initial gift remains protected.
