The Delta Community Foundation is pleased to support mental health initiatives in Delta.

A recent grant of $2,000 was made to the Step Forward Health Society, an organization that provides mental health support to individuals, couples and families. Mental health support is offered through qualified mental health counsellors, information and group support programs.

“The Step Forward Program was started with the hope to ensure that money does not get in the way of people receiving the help and care they need for their mental health,” said Meg Neufeld, president of the Step Forward Society. “Financial barriers can often prevent people from seeking help, and we are grateful to the Delta Community Foundation for their support of our program because we know it is going to help so many people.”

Community Foundation chair Gail Martin said its board is strong advocates of organizations that support mental health programs in Delta.

“Grants, such as this one, enable citizens within our community who need mental health support to access it in a timely and affordable way,” adds Martin. “The Step Forward Health Society offers professional counselling services to individuals and families in Delta and we are proud to support this organization.”
