Delta COVID-19 numbers continue to drop

The BCCDC says case rates are stable or declining in all health areas, while provincially cases are at the lowest count since last October.

The number of active cases of COVID-19 in the City of Delta is dropping sharply.

According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control’s latest community map of cases, covering the period May 23 to 29, Delta overall had 71 confirmed cases.

Meanwhile, Surrey had 460, Langley had 61, Abbotsford had 130, Richmond had 54, Burnaby had 157, the Tri-Cities had 101 and Vancouver had 289 cases.

Also according to the BCCDC, the average daily case rate per 100,000 people, from May 25 to 31, had Ladner at two, Tsawwassen at six and North Delta at 11.

The province is reporting that 71.1 per cent of all adults in B.C. and 68 per cent of those 12 and older have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

First does vaccine coverage for those 18 and older in the City of Delta is at least 80 per cent.
