The Delta police department has been asked by the RCMP to investigate a police involved shooting where a man from Williams Lake was killed.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday Sept. 24 in the Nimpo Lake area.
The Delta department's major crime section has put together an investigative team to conduct an independent investigation of the incident.
The RCMP secured the scene until arrival of Delta police investigators.
The Delta police said at this point the department is not in a position to provide further information until investigators are able to assess the circumstances and gather the facts.
