The Douglas J. Husband Discovery Centre will be playing host to lots of free events during BC Culture Days.

BC Culture Days celebrates the province’s diversity with a range of exhibits and activities across the province, including in Delta where several events are taking place.

For instance, if you’ve got some talent you’d like to share, try out the Open Stage at Tsawwassen Arts Centre, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22. You can register online or just watch the show.

And, if you’ve ever wondered what goes on at the Douglas J. Husband Discovery Centre, near city hall, there’s an open house on Saturday, Sept. 23, from 1 to 4 p.m.

The day will feature artist talks, gallery tours, partner booths, light refreshments, music and heritage games in the outdoor orchard. This is a drop-in event.

Also on Sept. 23, is The Exchange, part of the fall music series, and an epic, music extravaganza that takes place at the North Delta Centre for the Arts from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

There’s also a Scavenger Hunt for South Delta. That’s set for Sunday, Sept. 24, from noon to 4 p.m. The event follows an Amazing Race-type format. Once people register online, more details will be sent to them via email.

And on Sunday, Oct. 1, from 2 to 3 p.m., K.P. Aujlay will give a talk on Punjabi Pioneers in Delta: First 50 Years from 1900 – 1950, at the Douglas J. Husband Discovery Centre.

The presentation will start with the historical background of Punjabi Sikhs in India and their migration to Canada.
