The Delta police board is looking for input from local residents in its search for a new chief.

Long-time chief Jim Cessford retired last month after 20 years at the helm and the board is currently on the hunt for his replacement.

The board is interested in hearing from local residents on what they think should be a focus for the department as it moves into a new era.

The board is asking Delta residents to provide feedback on a few different issues:

• What do you see as the challenges facing the Delta Police Department from a community perspective?

• Where do you think the Delta Police Department should focus its efforts?

• What key attributes are you seeking in a new police chief?

All responses will be kept confidential and will be used to help set criteria for the position and to communicate expectations to the new chief.

Responses must be submitted via email to [email protected] by noon on Friday, March 13.
