Delta Police are investigating an alleged assault at the 81A Avenue Park in North Delta.
Police say the complaint was made just before 9 p.m. on Tuesday July 6.
The complainant said that a man approached three other men who apparently were smashing bottles in the park.
An altercation occurred and the man who told the other three to stop received non-life threatening injuries.
The three suspects fled.
Police conducted extensive patrols in the area but did not locate the three males.
Emergency Health Services attended the scene to treat the injured man.
The investigation is ongoing and police say they are aware that photos of the three suspects have been shared on social media.
“We’d like to assure the public that this matter is under investigation,” said Cris Leykauf, spokesperson for Delta Police.
"Anyone who knows the identity of the men, or who may have witnessed the incident or events leading up to it, is asked to call 604-946-4411 and quote file 21-15496."
