Delta police officers searched a B.C. ferry Friday afternoon after receiving a tip regarding missing Sparwood boy Kienan Hebert. It turned out to be a false alarm.

Delta police officers searched a B.C. ferry Friday afternoon after receiving a tip regarding missing Sparwood boy Kienan Hebert.

It turned out to be a false alarm.

The Coastal Celebration was turned around and returned to the dock in Tsawwassen where police officers searched the ship.

Neither the three-year-old or his suspected abductor, Randall Hopley, 46, were found on board.

The ferry resumed its trip from Tsawwassen to Vancouver Island about half an hour later.

Hebert was last seen when he was put to bed Tuesday evening at his home in Sparwood. An Amber Alert was issued Wednesday.
