Delta throwback: Let's eat at Dino's

The new Ladner restaurant could seat 140 patrons

Let’s go back to February of 1980 when there was a celebration for a new restaurant opening in Ladner, Dino’s Place.

It was the 12th Lower Mainland location for the restaurant, located in the 5500-block of Ladner Trunk Road.

Owner Peter Palivos said the Dino’s Place chain started as a “family business” and still maintained that tradition. The first restaurant opened in 1967 at Broadway and Trafalgar in Vancouver.

The company planned to open four more restaurants that year.

One aspect of the restaurant was the roomy booths for patrons.

It was open until 3 a.m. weekdays and 4 a.m. on weekends.
