Let’s take another step back to yesteryear, this time to the late 1880s.
The above Delta Archives photo and its pair were taken from the site of Wadham's Cannery.
They give a view of the early townsite of Ladner from the shore of the Fraser River.
They also show an Indian camp in the foreground, including tents, drying racks.
In the centre is a homestead with horses on what would become Georgia Street.
Other buildings in the image include the Delta Hotel, a warehouse on the wharf and the Town Hall on Elliot Street.
