The following are some of the calls the Delta police responded to in the previous week: Ladner Feb. 11, 7:19 a.m., 4700-block of 52A Street: Complainant advised that sometime overnight her vehicle had been entered through an unlocked door. Some insurance documents and small change were stolen but there was no damage to the vehicle.

Feb. 12, 2:12 p.m., East Ladner: A house cleaner reported a break-in while the owners were away. Entry gained by ramming a garage door with a vehicle.

Feb. 12, 3:35 p.m., 3400-block of Highway 17: A police officer in an unmarked vehicle was travelling on the South Fraser Perimeter Road when he was overtaken by another vehicle travelling in excess of 130 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. The officer issued a violation ticket for excessive speeding to the driver and impounded the vehicle for seven days. The driver and his passenger left in a taxi.

Feb. 12, 8:12 p.m., 4400-block of Maple Lane: Complainant reported he had observed an older model vehicle possibly lose its rear tire in the roadway. Police conducted area patrols and were unable to locate the vehicle but did find the tire. The tire was transported to the police station where it was stored.

Feb. 15, 1:11 p.m., 7000-block of Venture Street: Complainant observed two unknown suspects in a red Ford pick-up with a black canopy back up to two tractor units and siphon gas from the tanks. Police were able to view surveillance video but were unable to obtain the licence plate of the suspect vehicle.

Tsawwassen Feb. 10, 4:25 p.m., Point Roberts border crossing: Complainant reported that while she was in the line up waiting re-entry into Canada, the vehicle in front rolled back into her car, causing approximately $1,000 damage. The drivers agreed to swap information when they crossed back into Canada but the alleged offending driver did not stop as agreed. Police visited both parties and there is a dispute as to who is responsible. The matter has been referred to ICBC.

Feb. 13, 2:40 p.m., Boundary Bay: Police were dispatched to a residential alarm and confirmed that a break and enter had occurred. Entry was probably gained by a vehicle ramming a garage door and then prying open an inner door. Neighbourhood inquiries revealed possible video evidence of a suspicious vehicle earlier in the day and police will be following up on this information.

Feb. 13, 6:27 p.m., Beach Grove: Complainants reported their home had been broken into. Entry appears to have been gained at a sliding glass door.

Various sporting goods were stolen. Police have requested a detailed list and serial numbers.

There were several break and enters over the past week in Ladner and Tsawwassen. One of the Forensic Identification Services Section officers who attends cases like these said locations with activated audible alarms have significantly less property stolen than those without alarm systems.
