A 60-year-old Ladner man was issued two violation tickets following a hit and run accident Monday night.

According to Delta Police, a report came in around 8:10 p.m. of a vehicle that had struck the street sign and light standard while attempting to negotiate the corner from Highway 17A southbound onto Ladner Trunk Road westbound.

“A witness was able to provide a description of the driver, vehicle and plate number,” said DPD public affairs coordinator Sharlene Brooks. “Based on information provided by the witness police located the vehicle believed to be involved in the collision and subsequently located the registered owner. Damage to the vehicle located was consistent with the collision information provided by the witness.”

Brooks said the driver admitted to being in the vehicle and involved in the collision.

Police issued two violation tickets to the driver — failing to remain at the scene of the accident and driving too fast for road conditions.

Delta Public Works was advised of the damage to the sign so repairs could be made.
