Expect delays on Alex Fraser heading into Delta

You might want to try using another route as southbound traffic will be impacted again on the Alex Fraser Bridge this weekend.

More maintenance work will be taking place Alex Fraser Bridge again this weekend.

The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure says lane closures on the bridge will take place tonight starting at tonight at 8 p.m. until Monday, Nov. 22 at 4 a.m.

The lane closures means there will no counter flow operation.

Two lanes will be maintained for southbound drivers and three lanes open northbound.

From Monday, Nov. 22 to Friday, Nov. 26, there’s going to be no daily counter flow due to the joint ramp installation.

The ministry also notes that all seven lanes will be open during that time with three lanes northbound and four lanes southbound.

Next Friday, Nov. 26, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 29 there will once again be lane closures in effect and no counter flow operation.

During that time, two lanes will be maintained for northbound drivers and three lanes open southbound.

On Monday, Nov. 29, the work is to be completed and normal counter flow operations in place for the morning rush.

A reduced speed limit is in effect.
