Give yourself some extra time if you happen to be heading south on Highway 99 this weekend or anytime soon.

Ongoing construction has speed reduced to 60 km/h 24 hours a day for an extended stretch.

The $12.3 million project is to create bus-on-shoulder transit lanes south of the tunnel between Highway 17A and the Ladner Trunk Road off-ramp. Work is also being done on the northbound side of Highway 99 from Ladner Trunk Road to link up with the start of the high-occupancy vehicle lane.

Further south, improvements to the Highway 99 on and off ramps at the 32nd Avenue exit has speed reduced to 50 km/h from near the Nicomekl Bridge.

This project is adding new lanes to the 32nd Avenue interchange entry and exit ramps, as well as lengthen the southbound exit ramp to the 32nd Avenue Diversion.
