Female duo sought after thefts from spa & salon

The following are some of the calls of interest the Delta police responded to in the South Delta area between Monday, April 8 and Sunday, April 14:

Tsawwassen

. April 11, 2: 10 p.m., 1200-block of 56th Street: The owner of the coffee shop reported his wife's vehicle parked behind the shop was damaged with someone kicking in the right rear tail light and smashing the driver's side door mirror.

. April 11, 6 p.m., 1300block of 56th Street: The spa was entered by two females with one of the females distracting the employee by asking questions and requesting a tour while the other female entered the staff room and stole the keys to the premises. The suspects then quickly fled the scene.

. April 11, 6: 30 p.m., 1100-block of 56th Street: The same two females entered the hair salon and while the younger female distracted the employee, the older female reached behind the counter and stole the employee's iPhone and wallet. Both the suspects then quickly fled the salon.

One of the suspects is in her late 20s with long hair and the other is in her late 40s with short, dirty blond hair.

. April 12, 10: 21 p.m., 900-block of Pacific Drive: Complainant reported several youths damaging his neighbour's property. Police apprehended one of the suspects with another admitting his participation. Both suspects were remorseful, took full responsibility and will pay for the damage that amounts to several hundred dollars. The suspects were turned over to the custody of their guardians. Police will follow up on the situation.

. April 14, 8: 02 p.m., 700-block of 49th Street: Three youths were reported riding dirt bikes in the playground of the school.

When police arrived, the youths fled the scene, leaving behind several items, including two cans of beer, a T-shirt, baseball hat, blue shoulder bag and a cell phone. Items submitted to property unit for disposal if not claimed.

. April 8, 3: 05 p.m., 4600-block of Clarence Taylor Crescent: Report received that someone had stolen the complainant's wallet from the locker room of the leisure centre. No video surveillance.

. April 12, 3: 01 p.m., 4900-block of Central Avenue: Complainant reported someone had stolen her purse from her vehicle while she was in the dog park or while she was working the night shift at the seniors care home.

One credit card was used to make a $100 purchase at a gas station and an attempt had been used to make a $193 purchase at a convenience store. Surveillance video at the convenience store captured images of the suspect.

. April 13, 5: 25 p.m., 9600-block of Ladner Trunk Road: Complainant reported her wallet was stolen from her vehicle and an attempt had been made to use her credit card at a gas station. Police obtained video surveillance for possible identification of the suspect.

. April 13, 1: 17 p.m., 6300-block of Crescent Place: Passenger door of the complainant's company van was punched out and several items, including hand tools and furnace repair parts, were stolen.
