Flight simulation museum in the works at boundary bay airport

A museum is being planned for the Boundary Bay Airport in East Ladner.

A museum is being planned for the Boundary Bay Airport in East Ladner.

The second museum of its kind in the world, the North American Museum of Flight Simulation will feature the history of flight simulation and will have a range of working simulators that people will be able to experience.

Museum president Kai Hansen said the proposed facility would also focus on education and introducing new generations to the aviation industry by offering programs for a wide range of groups.

The museum, which has already been two years in the planning stages, is hoping to open its doors in 2015.

The museum has two smaller flight simulators in storage at the airport and is working on getting more equipment that will help it tell the story of how simulators have contributed to the aviation industry.
