King's Company, a local theatre arts company, is pleased to announce that Jennifer Harbott has joined the summer staff of Tracy Neff, Barry Saip and Jim Martens to offer two weeks of drama camp at South Delta Baptist Church.

Harbott, like Neff, has a distinguished history of performance at the high school level in Delta and is now entering her final and fifth year in the Theatre Performance program at SFU. Students can join Harbott and King's Company this summer and experience a wide variety of dramatic experiences: games, exercises, improvisation, musical theatre, mime, puppets, clowning, mask making, stagecraft and more.

King's Company is also pleased to announce that they have received the performance rights for Children's Letters to God, a new musical based on the best selling book by Stuart Hample and Eric Marshall. The book is a collection of questioning, serious, reverent, and humorous letters that children have written to God. It has recently been turned into a musical featuring five main cast members and a supporting chorus. Children's Letters to God will be directed by Tracy Neff and Jim Martens. Performances are planned for the end of August and will be staged at South Delta Baptist Church.

"I read the first five lines of the musical and was hooked. I particularly liked the line 'Dear God, Thank you for the baby brother, but what I prayed for was a puppy,'" said King's Company's Jim Martens.

"There are 18 songs that make up the musical and they make the story come alive through the eyes of children. Every student that attends our summer camps can be a part of our performances, if they wish, and later in the summer we will hold auditions for the five main roles. It's going to be a great show," said Neff.

The camp is running July 25-29 and Aug. 1-5.
