Damage estimates are unknown following a house fire on Gillespie Road in Tsawwassen Thursday night.
Delta firefighters were called to the home just after 6:30 p.m.
Deputy chief Guy McKintuck said 15 members and one battalion chief plus five pieces of apparatus responded. Upon arrival smoke was visible coming from the backside of the home.
“Firefighters gained entry to the home, which was unoccupied and sourced the location of the fire very quickly,” McKintuck said. “We had the fire quickly contained. It was a good save.”
McKintuck said Friday morning the home was boarded up, and there is noticeable siding damage on the back outside of the home. It was unclear what the extent of the smoke and water damage is.
He said the fire is under investigation with the cause and point of origin still unknown.
