Next Saturday's Reach for the Stars gala will be highlighted by a live auction filled with an impressive array of items.
The auction will feature everything from packages to the Country Music Awards in Nashville to special nights out in Vancouver and flights to exotic locales.
Fans of the Vancouver Canucks will be excited to know that Denis Horgan, vice-president and general manager of Westshore Terminals, has made a personal donation of a framed Canucks jersey signed by the most of the team, including stars Henrik and Daniel Sedin, Roberto Luongo, Ryan Kesler and Kevin Bieksa.
Reach Child and Youth Development Foundation is presenting the second annual Reach for the Stars fundraising gala at the Harris Barn in Ladner. Proceeds from the event will go toward Reach's Building for Children Together $4 million capital campaign to build a new centre in Ladner for children and youth with special needs.
Reach provides services, programs and resources for children and youth with disabilities and their families, but is operating out of a centre that is difficult to access and not designed for such a purpose.
The new Reach centre will be built on the current site of the Kin House next to the Ladner Pioneer Library.
The Reach Foundation has raised $1.3 million toward the $4 million goal.
Tickets for Reach for the Stars are $95 for the main floor or $75 for seating in the hayloft. VIP tables can be reserved for an additional $250.
