Here's the latest COVID-19 numbers for the City of Delta, schools

COVID-19 cases in Delta continue to move in a positive direction

Delta and other Fraser Health communities are still asking for more community-specific data on coronavirus infections.

The number of confirmed active cases of COVID-19 in the City of Delta continues to drop.

According to the B.C. Centre for Disease Control’s latest community case map released Thursday, which covers the week Jan. 24 to 30, Delta had 59 cases of people infected with the coronavirus.

The city the previous week had 69 cases and it was 100 cases the week prior to that.

Meanwhile, according to the BCCDC’s latest numbers, Surrey had 542 cases, Richmond had 44 cases, Langley had 79 cases, Abbotsford had 171 cases, the Tri-Cities 111, Vancouver 406 and Burnaby 209.

As far as Fraser Health’s list of Delta schools which had exposure events, as of Thursday, seven schools are listed including Sands Secondary, which had an exposure Jan. 25, 26, 28 and 29.

The other schools include Chalmers Elementary (Jan. 26, 27) Delview Secondary (Jan. 28, 29) Hawthorne Elementary (Jan. 21), Hellings Elementary (Jan. 25, 27), McCloskey Elementary (Jan. 26, 27, 28) and North Delta Secondary (Jan. 21, 25).

No Delta schools are listed as having outbreaks or clusters.
