Hospice session helps grieving better deal with the coming holiday season

Even though holidays and special days are usually joyous celebrations filled with rituals, traditions and love, these particular days can be surprisingly painful for those who have been touched by death.

Even though holidays and special days are usually joyous celebrations filled with rituals, traditions and love, these particular days can be surprisingly painful for those who have been touched by death.

The Delta Hospice Society will host an evening of sharing and reflection on coping with holidays and other special days on Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 7 p.m.

One of the counselling team members will speak on grief and loss and discuss how to hang on to traditions and how to create new ones that will help you to endure, survive and even enjoy the upcoming special days.

After the presentation, refreshments will be served and participants will have an opportunity to share as well as receive helpful handouts.

The presentation will be held in the Great Room at the Centre for Supportive Care, 4631 Clarence Taylor Cres., Ladner. Anyone is welcome to attend.

Registration is appreciated, but not necessary. Call 604-948-0660 to register or for more information.

Delta Hospice offers a variety of individual and group grief support services and professional counselling at no cost. There are programs for children, teens and adults.
