Each year the Delta Heritage Advisory Commission recognizes Heritage Week with the presentation of the Heritage Award of Merit and the Friends of Heritage Awards. These awards provide an opportunity for Delta to recognize members of the community who have contributed to the preservation of various aspects of Delta's history.

The commission recently announced the Heritage Award of Merit is being conferred to Brent and Jane Kelly for their restoration of the Harry Weaver Residence, 4116-96th St.

Mayor Lois Jackson will present a plaque to the Kellys at their home on Monday at 11 a.m.

Friends of Heritage Awards are being presented to the following individuals for their contribution to Delta's heritage:

. Jean Brown for providing photographs for the Vancouver Wireless Station Project and first-hand information from her employment as a teacher at the Vancouver Wireless Station School.

. Bill Rogers for providing information regarding the Vancouver Wireless Station site where he was stationed in the Army Signal Corps and lived with his family.
