Ladner roadway to undergo upgrade

Battered rural road to get upgrade
36th Avenue Ladner road project
Delta’s Rural Road Improvements Program has a focus to improve the pavement condition along Delta's agricultural routes and improve cycling opportunities.

Delta city council recently awarded a $670,000 contract to rehabilitate a long, narrow stretch of rural Ladner road.

The project for 36th Avenue, from Arthur Drive to 46A Street, involves the pulverization of the existing asphalt road surface and base gravel, placement of a geogrid system to enhance road strength and placement of new gravel and asphalt pavement.

The works also include the addition of five speed cushions as traffic calming measures and a gravel shoulder along the south side of 36th Avenue for improved pedestrian safety.

The project is to improve the transportation infrastructure for Delta’s agricultural community and food distribution.
