Ellis and Margaret Prendergast in an article said they looked forward to a great future in Ladner and had high hopes for their Shop-Easy grocery store.
Ellis thought the slow period of a few years back had gone forever and the community was forging ahead.
That’s why he became owner of the Ladner Shop-Easy in July 1962.
The couple, who had three children, lived in Ladner and were keenly interested in everything going on in the community.
Ellis was a treasurer of the Ladner Businessmen’s Association and a member of the Rotary Club.
