The Tsawwassen Boundary Bay Lions annual Christmas tree chipping fundraiser is this weekend.

Lions Club members will be on hand on Saturday, Jan. 9 and Sunday, Jan. 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the South Delta Rec. Centre in Tsawwassen.

To comply with the current COVID-19 restrictions, the Lions Club will require everyone to remain in their vehicles while in the tree drop-off area.

The Lions Club have been holding this community service/fundraiser since the early 1990’s. For the past few years they have been assisted by the South Delta Secondary football and rugby teams in return for a donation to their clubs.

The money raised from this annual event is donated to a variety of community projects such as the playgrounds at Centennial Beach and Grauer Park. The club also supports food banks in South Delta and Point Roberts, supply dentures, glasses and hearing aids for individuals and support families in need in our community.

This is only the club’s second fundraiser that they have been able to host this due to COVID-19 restrictions and club members are really looking forward to it.
