Saturday, July 30

North Delta:

- Fraud: 11500-block Parkwood Place - Unknown person conducting fraud scam over the phone. The caller indicates that the resident is the winner of a sum of money but they require $500 (or more) to process the winnings. The resident in this case provided money and was later contacted for more before reporting to police.

South Delta:

- Theft: 5100-block 48th Avenue - Sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) stole a black Hilti drill.

- Break and enter in progress: 4800-block Central Avenue - Suspect smashed window of premise and attempted to gain entry. Police arrived and arrested the male who also had an outstanding warrant from an outside jurisdiction. Suspect held for transport. Break and enter still under investigation.

Sunday, July 31

North Delta:

- Theft: 7400-block Crawford Place - Sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) entered complainant's back yard stealing tools including a pressure washer, power saw and concrete grinder.

- Theft of auto: 11600-block Kittson Park Way - Unknown suspect(s) stole an orange 2011 Nissan Marano that was parked roadside. Vehicle entered on police computer system.

Monday, Aug. 1

North Delta:

- Recovered stolen auto: 10300-block Nordel Way - Police recovered a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder that was originally stolen out of the Surrey area. Vehicle towed for forensic examination.

- Break and enter: 800-block Derwent Way - Unknown suspect(s) gained entry to secure compound and broke into a vehicle. Suspect(s) appear to have stolen tools from the vehicle. File still under investigation.

- Suspicious males with weapons: Watershed Park - Police responded to a report of a small group of males seen entering Watershed Park believed to be in possession of rifles. Upon further investigation and locating the males it was determined they were in possession of air-soft rifles. No charges.

- Theft: Center Street and River Road - Unknown suspect(s) stole a white 1983 Dodge pick up truck. The truck also contained tools and other items. Vehicle entered on police computer system.

- Recovered stolen vehicle: 10100-block River Road - Police recovered a 2005 white one ton box van originally stolen from the Surrey area. The vehicle was towed for forensic examination.

South Delta:

- Suspicious male/circumstance: 6500-block 48th Avenue - Police responded to a report of a male in possession of a gun. He had made a purchase of liquor and appeared to have a handgun in his waistband. No threat was made to the clerk. The male left the store and police responded to the area. The male was located in his vehicle and checked by police. In addition to the replica gun being located, the male exhibited signs and symptoms of impairment. He provided breath samples suitable for analysis. Male faces weapons possession and impaired driving charges.

- Theft: Ferry Causeway - Unknown suspect(s) stole a boat and trailer from the boat launch area. Taken was a 14-foot Harbourcraft aluminium boat. Value of theft approximately $8,000.

- Suspicious circumstance: 4800-block 13th Avenue - At approximately 7:55 p.m. a young girl (8 years old) was out walking her dog when a driver of a vehicle pulled over and asked her for directions to Highway 99. The young girl indicated she didn't know and the driver turned the vehicle around and left the area south on English Bluff Road. Vehicle described as a black SUV (no plate obtained). Driver described as a Caucasian male, 30 to 40 years old and bald.
