In celebration of Valentine's Day, the Rotary Club of Tsawwassen's annual Wine Gala will feature a romantic and fun "Love is in the air" theme.
The annual event takes place on Saturday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. at the Beach Grove Golf Club. It will be emceed by Tsawwassen's own Jackson Davies, well known from the long-running CBC series The Beachcombers.
Tickets include wine for the evening, gourmet hors d'oeuvres and some decadent chocolate tasting.
There will also be silent and live auctions featuring a B.C. Lions suite, two nights at Hester Creek Winery, a $2,000 shopping spree at Budget Foods, Lummi Island and Glimpse Lake getaways, golfing at Sagebrush and a 60bottle wall of wine.
A highlight of the live auction will be "A Valentine's Day for Her" that includes a mani-pedi and massage at Atlantis Day Spa, a night in a jacuzzi suite at Coast Tsawwassen Inn, gift card from Boutique Blanche, chocolate, champagne, flowers, limo service, dinner at RiverHouse and brunch the next morning at Brown's.
Guests at the Wine Gala will also be able to buy a key to a locked box for a chance to head home with a 4.2-carat deep purple amethyst pendant surrounded by 24 diamonds totalling .14 carats set in 14K white gold suspended on a 14K white gold chain. It's from Prestige Jewellery of Richmond.
Funds raised at Wine Gala will go towards local projects such as new lighting at Diefenbaker Park to enhance Rotary Waterworks, the purchase of junior curling rocks at Tunnel Town and international projects such as Path to Health.
A limited number of $75 tickets will be sold to the popular event, which sells out each year.
