Set to open this October, Tsawwassen Mills wants to attract shoppers from Greater Vancouver, Vancouver Island and the U.S.

The developer behind the Tsawwassen Mills mega mall made a major tenant announcement today.

After more than two years with little tenant news, Ivanhoe Cambridge announced new anchor tenants for its mall now under construction: DSW Designer Shoes, Forever 21, H&M, Pro Hockey Life, Marshalls, Nike Factory Store, Old Navy, Sport Check, Tommy Hilfiger Outlet, Urban Planet/West 49 and Winners.

Other tenants announced include Aritzia, Banana Republic Factory Store, Brooks Brothers Factory Store, Browns, Calvin Klein Outlet, Gap Factory Store, GUESS Outlet, Ever New, The Outlet by Harry Rosen, L’Occitane en Provence, Lucky Brand Jeans Outlet and Marc Cain.
Two new restaurants announced were Milestones Grill & Bar and Montana’s Bar & Grill.

Bass Pro Shops had been the first anchor announced and a few weeks ago Saks OFF 5th also announced it’s locating an outlet store at the mall.
Ivanhoe Cambridge notes, “The list of retailers is only a small sample of the full roster of stores that will be announced closer to the grand opening date. Tsawwassen Mills will be home to approximately 200 brands.”

The company also notes its location “will make it a retail destination of choice for shoppers from the Greater Vancouver area and the U.S.”
Mills general manager Mark Fenwick this year said Mills will be a shopping centre that will have people drive upwards of two-and-a-half hours to come and visit.

Located at the Tsawwassen First Nation, just off Highway 17A and 52nd Street, the 1.2 million square foot mall is scheduled to open Oct. 5. Having 200 stores including 16 anchors, Tsawwassen Mills will be mostly a fashion oriented centre with a mix of outlet and other retailers. It’s based on Ivanhoe Cambridge’s huge CrossIron Mills mall outside of Calgary and Vaughan Mills in the Greater Toronto area. The Tsawwassen Mills is expected to have the same retailers as the other two.

Also having a 1,100-seat food court, the indoor mall will sit next door to Tsawwassen Commons, a 550,000-square-foot outdoor shopping centre with approximately 100 tenants, including Walmart, Canadian Tire and Rona.

Set to change the face of not only South Delta but the retail landscape of the entire Lower Mainland, the two malls will have a combined footprint almost identical to Metrotown.
Several of the future tenants at the Mills already have job postings.
A job fair is planned for late June. Tsawwassen Mills tenant businesses will also have a job fair that will exclusively target TFN members and member spouses.
