Delta Police have released its impaired statistics for the past week.

In its continued public information campaign about the dangers of drinking and driving, Delta Police released its impaired driving figures Monday afternoon.

According to a post on its Facebook page, DPD officers took a total of five impaired drivers off the road with three 90-day Immediate Roadside prohibitions handed out and two 24-hour Immediate Roadside prohibitions handed out.

“We continue to receive emergency calls from road users reporting a possible impaired driver, including a taxi driver who called 9-1-1 last week,” said DPD. “He reported that he had picked up an intoxicated female, but when he dropped her off at her location, she proceeded to get into a vehicle and drive away. Police in the area were able to quickly locate the woman, where she blew two fails into the Alcohol Screening Device (ASD).”
