Delta Optimist readers are at least somewhat prepared for a weather-related emergency.

That’s what a recent poll “How prepared are you for an emergency?” that ran Nov. 23-26 following the Atmospheric River storm that caused flooding devastation around the province. Of the 121 readers that participated in the online poll nearly 27 percent say they have updated plans, along with extra food and supplies. Another 48 percent said they are somewhat prepared but probably should do more.

The remaining 25 percent voted for ‘not being prepared. I only have what’s in the fridge.’

Of the total votes, 61 of the readers are from the community.

Results are based on an online study of adult Delta Optimist readers that are located in Ladner. The margin of error - which measures sample variability - is +/- 8.89%, 19 times out of 20.
