May 16, Public Safety Building, 11375 84th Avenue: Complainant reported that they were speaking to a landlord advertising an apartment rental on Facebook Marketplace.  The landlord requested a $525 deposit before sending keys to complainant to view the place. The complainant sent the funds before they realized the situation to be a scam. The incident was reported to the bank, and Facebook, but the complainant was not interested in participating in an investigation.

May 17, 11600 Block of 81st Avenue: Complainant left their vehicle parked on the street in front of their residence, when they returned in about a week they noticed the driver’s side door was open and the insurance papers missing. Nothing else was stolen from the vehicle. A canvass by police for surveillance video proved negative.

May 17, Public Safety Building, 11375 84th Avenue: Complainant reported that they sent $350 by e-transfer as a deposit on a rental suite advertised through Facebook. Following the transfer, all communication with the advertiser stopped. Police discussed the best practices for online safety with the complainant. 

May 18, Public Safety Building, 11375 84th Avenue: Complainant reported that they received a WhatsApp text for a job opportunity with Amazon. The opportunity was enticing, and the complainant sent $6,000 to a bit coin wallet as instructed. Following the money being sent, all communication with the advertiser ceased. Police investigated but were unable to track or locate the suspects committing the on-line crime. 

May 18, 10400 Block of Glenrose Drive: Complainant reported the theft of their Google Nest doorbell from their residence. Surveillance video showed a male walking up the driveway and was associated to a white Nissan Pathfinder, no plate obtained. A still photograph of the suspect was disseminated for possible identification.

May 20, 1500 Block of Cliveden Avenue: Report received of a theft from a vehicle. The truck hood, bumper, and front lights were stolen off the vehicle with an estimated loss of $5,000. Surveillance video to be examined for possible identification of suspects.

May 21, 120th Street and 70th Avenue: During proactive patrol, police observed a vehicle which was unable to maintain their lane position and had inconsistent speed. A traffic stop initiated, and suspicion of alcohol consumption was made. The driver refused to provide breath samples. Consequently, they were given a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition and a 30-day vehicle impoundment. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver left the area on foot.
