Chad Euverman are you ready to play Family Feud Canada?

The North Delta resident, his brother Michael, sisters Shannon and Kim and nephew Brady will be contestants Tuesday night during the premier week of Family Feud Canada, hosted by popular comedian and actor Gerry Dee.

Their episode is on at 8 p.m. on CBC television.

Euverman said their family grew up in the Sunshine Hills area and when they were kids their mom always had Family Feud on while cooking dinner.

When CBC announced the Canadian version of the popular game show, the family jumped at the chance of trying to get on the show.

“We submitted a video spur of the moment at a family barbecue. Unfortunately two siblings who weren’t in the video did not end up on the show and that caused a bit of a real family feud,” said Euverman. “The process moved fast and they only have five people on the show, so we couldn’t change who was included. However, within a day of submitting the video we were called to do a Skype interview and from that we were shortly thereafter invited to a live audition in August in Vancouver.”

He said they had a good feeling they would be chosen, due to the vibe given by a couple of producers who thought they were pretty funny with unique individual and family stories.

They heard nothing after that for three months until Nov. 29 when Euverman received an early morning call from a producer who wanted to film four series premier episodes.

The catch was, they all had to drop everything and fly out the next day.

“The experience was surreal and a whirlwind as it was so last minute, however the staff were amazing and they set us up royally with flights, food and accommodation,” he said. “It was nice to meet Gerry Dee very briefly. The film set was done up authentic like the American game show and production of the show was top notch.”

He said their lack of preparation and last-minute notice played some factors in their result as they didn’t get to strategize.

“Within 48 hours we went from thinking our chance to be on the show was non-existent to being in Toronto and having filmed our episode,” he said. “I can’t say how we did. You will just have to watch us on Tuesday.”
